In Maumelle the other night with Jessica and Bryan. Seems the city has painted some of its hydrants with a dalmation theme. Since Bryan has a dalmation we thought it would be fun to snap a photo with the phone. It came out better than I expected. Posted by Picasa
Jess snapped this shot of a chipmunk on one of our wood piles. Cool! Posted by Picasa

Photos online

So...I'm now using Google's online photo tool to share photos. I'll still place them here but will have full albums on the Google page.

Now I know it's not as functional as Flickr (no tags yet) but it meets my needs. I'll get a link to the site along the sidebar soon but till then...this should work.

I've only got three albums posted but will get more out over the next few days. Enjoy and leave comments if you'd like.
That's me...rock climbing near Pinnacle Mountain sometime in the mid '90s. I'm pretty sure Vince Cucco or Chet Cornell took the photo...the other was on belay. Posted by Picasa
American Falls at Niagara Falls. This was at some point in 1989. We had taken our German foreign exchange student, Christian, there for the day. Lots of fun. Posted by Picasa

As promised a while back, I've been scanning photos like crazy. Finally have some to share. This is in the middle of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Taken on one of my trips to visit my friend Sarah back in the '90's. I'd guess this photo is from September 1994. Posted by Picasa

I'm back. Actually been back for over a week. Sorry for being gone so long. Good trip. Helped the economy. Made some purchases. Drank some margaritas.

This past Friday, Jess and I attempted the dreaded mixing of friends; including an invite to someone I hadn't seen in at least a decade. We grilled. We talked. We played a few games. I think it was reasonably successful. I enjoyed. Lukas (small baby) was a great ice-breaker. He and the dog certainly helped the conversation move forward. Hopefully we'll be able to do this again.

As for the friend from a decade past. I think that went well. She's a gamer-geek (and I mean that in a nice way) who's into sci-fi. She'll be fun to have around too.

I promised a while back to get some old photos scanned. And I've been doing just that. I'm having a problem posting them to the blog. They may be too large. I'll work on the problem and get something posted.

I know that I watch too much television but the new season of Prison Break is tonight. It's a very good show. You should check it out. Now would be a good time to get into the story. In short...8 inmates escaped in the season finale and are now on the run. Clearly last season was the prison part...this season is all about the break (and run). Monday's on Fox. Give it shot.

One more thing. The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner. Not so good. Funny in part but more shocking to hear the language and the jokes about George Takei (Sulu) being gay. Also, Takei's bit was very blue and shocking in that it certainly seems to be closer to his true feelings. He's an actor, but not that good. Betty White's bit is possibly the best portion.

That's all for now. It's good to be back.

Okay my little urchins...going to be away for a few days. This should keep you going until I return with new photos and stories.

My old friend Joy is in this comedy short. I believe it was produced by a sketch comedy group she's involved with. Look for her as the one with the cookies. (And she's not really old...)

Number Stations

This post is mainly for Peter and Mike. Heard this NPR bit the other day and thought of the two of you and wondered if you had ever heard of it...

Number Stations. (NPR story here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4167689)

Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_stations

Fancy stuff. I want to know more and listen to one of the cds. If you listen to the NPR piece...what interests me is that government agencies won't comment on these so-called number stations. Seems to me that a denial would better than a no comment.

Thoughts?

I think that with enough pressure you can keep them small. This is my niece Maddie on her 9th birthday. She's a bit of a wild one but generally pretty good.

Recent Vagabond photo taken with the phone, which is why the quality is suspect.

Lukas. Doesn't he look like he's about to say something very important?
