Time for a reasonably big announcement. You'll notice a couple of small changes to the site. I'll get to those.
Jess and I have decided to pursue international adoption. We're using Dillon International as our agency and have decided on Vietnam as the country of origin. This is the right decision for us and we ask for your patience and support as we make this trek over the next year. We're looking forward to the day next year when we can introduce our daughter to friends and family.
Jess has set up a separate blog as a journal for the adoption adventure: bringing home bé (according to a likely unreliable English to Vietnamese dictionary, bé means baby). There is a link along the side too. I'll have her set up an RSS feed real soon. The other item you see is the make a donation button. Adoptions are expensive, and while we don't really anticipate random donations, we figured it couldn't hurt to passively solicit gifts. That's all I'll say about that.
Naturally we're very excited. Right now we have no news other than the submission of our first set of paperwork to Dillon. We're awaiting the second batch.
That's it in a nutshell.

All I could really think when I heard about this the other day from Beth was 'GOOD!'
Basically, you and Jess are two of the finest people I've ever had to pleasure of knowing.
I grok a rightness.
You know Jess and I think the same about you and Beth.
This is the beginning of a life journey you'll talk about forever. What a good idea to keep a journal of it.
Best wishes.
Can you feel the *LOVE*!?!? ;) Pete, what's "grok"? Grammar Nazi Girl likes to collect new verbs.
Wow! Big step! Wishing you all the best in this journey...
Grok (it's Martian): to drink, to understand, to absorb, to be at one with.
It's from Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein.
Thanks, Pete. Shiny.
