So I went to a high school football game last night. Jessica's little sister is a Senior and a cheerleader. I haven't been to a H.S. game since 1991...and it hasn't changed a bit. It's probably convenient that the school is similar in size to mine so that it felt familiar. I didn't care about the game but the observation was fun...

More later...we're off-site in Little Rock this weekend.

Ugh...could not pay me enough to go back to high school. In fact, you couldn't even pay me enough to go back to another reunion after the 10th year one was so awful--startling how some things never change. I wonder if any sociologists have catalogued how adolescent social structures tend to reemerge among otherwise normal adults at those events.

Hey, Nick, are we taking over Ken's blog since he's not posting anything?

Actually, Mount/CHS didn't have a marching band; instead, we had a righteous jazz band (led by a percussionist) that was a lot of fun.

I was referring to the general malaise that is high school: worrying about grades, getting scholarships for college, choosing a college, dating, plan for the rest of my life, etc. What I most hated about high school were the cliques...and the reunion very much felt like the "Hmmmn...who's the prettiest, has the most money, the best husband?" competition. Glad to leave all that crap in high school.
