Word of the Week: Conclave

Via Dictionary.com: con·clave n.
  1. A secret or confidential meeting.
  2. Roman Catholic Church.
    1. The private rooms in which the cardinals meet to elect a new pope.
    2. The meeting held to elect a new pope.
  3. A meeting of family members or associates.
So, how long will it last? I'm guessing they'll knock it out within 5-days. We should have a new Pope by next weekend.

But what do I know...

Should we care? The Roman Catholic church is a lie. ;)

What do you mean...it's a lie. I'm fairly certain it's a church and religion. Are you saying they spread lies? Granted...churches and religions spread lies and propaganda to further their own ecclesiastical and temporal goals. But then belief is a funny thing...non-believers see lies where others see truth.

I would argue that yes, in fact, we should care who is selected. Especially if by 'we' I mean people like myself, who are not a part of that faith. That large a power bloc is something you should keep an eye on. I mean, I love several people who are Catholic, but I am very mistrustful of organized religion. All the more reason to care, I say.

Also, where does the proverbial 800 pound gorilla sit? Anywhere it wants to.

Got a new one now, Ken. We need your New Pope Report, please.

BTW, I was procrastinating this afternoon (yeah, me) and started one of these silly things. Got a huge deadline Thursday, so why the heck not?
